MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Oh the fun and games we had last week! We spent two days at Mmakuba Primary School in Makapanstad putting up their brand-spanking-new Wood Fun jungle gyms. For the kids it was love at first sight. They were so excited it was really hard to keep them off the jungle gyms while the paint dried.
We owe a big thank you to everyone who made this possible by generously donating towards the jungle gyms. We also want to say an extra big thank you to Shona for her inspirational ‘Christmas Present’ idea and making it happen. Your love, support and thoughtfulness means so much and has truly made a difference to these kid’s lives. Also thank you to Corrie from Wood Fun, you were an absolute pleasure to work with.
Two things struck us while we were there. Firstly the kids were constantly asking us for water. Heart breaking to be honest. Sitting in that sunshine. Thirsty. Secondly we were so touched by their happiness towards us for being there. They followed us constantly and laughed where ever we went.
It’s moments like these that our hearts swell with happiness for the work that we are privileged enough to do in our little community. It all starts with an idea. And it’s the smallest of ideas that can bring the biggest amount of hope.
