The Karabo Girls

jcdlogoWe feel so honoured and blessed to have had our Christmas angels given as gifts to the Karabo girls – who work at a similar social upliftment project called the Karabo Cards Project, in Mamalodi (not very far from Heartfelt). The Karabo Cards Project is part of Just Cards Direct - an exciting business that imports and sells handmade greetings cards from Africa and printed cards from around the world. It was started by a group of friends in South Africa and the UK as a way to fund full time ministry work involving training churches and communities in the area of Healing and trauma counseling. The Karabo girls, who started in August 2007, are very special indeed and they all have their own heartfelt stories to tell. This year alone three ladies lost their mothers in car accidents. This meant one of the ladies had to stop her studies and another one had to postpone her wedding. Another lady, Violet lost her daughter and Lydia’s son was murdered – a great deal of sadness to fit into one year and the Heartfelt ladies have sadly experienced something similar. So, together we feel we can really benefit from supporting each other in our respective communities and will all meet up early next year to share stories and ideas.

According to Ronel Geldenhuys - who runs Just Cards Direct from Pretoria - the Karabo Girls had a very special Christmas party (and so did our angels by the sounds of it).  “The Karabo girls really loved the fellowship around the table, the food, the laughter and especially the little angels from the Heartfelt Project’ said Ronel. We thanked the Lord for carrying us all through difficult times this year and a Christmas party with lovely food, drink and a gift definitely illustrated that the Lord looks after them in the small and the big things. We gave them all an extra angel to give as a gift to someone who is ill, poor, abandoned, suffering and they can’t wait to do that! While we had our party, there was a funeral in the morning in the church and later in the day a wedding – I thought the Lord wanted to show them that He brings them out of death into life and into a covenant with Him which is everlasting and FULL of His love and provision”. We feel so blessed to now have these special ladies in our lives.
