Julie Hadley
julie-small

Heartfelt was Julie's brainchild soon after Emanuel's death in 2006. Martha and Julie, who share a special bond, worked together on designs while Julie was still living in the UK. It was a way for her to help Martha heal her broken heart and survive. Having worked in the creative industry for many years and at one stage in the curio business in Botswana, Julie realised that there were great opportunities out there for women in African crafts. Through heartfelt she aims to bring together more unemployed women in Martha's community so that they can all spread the heartfelt message of hope.

"A lot of women struggle to make a living due to the fact that they are far removed - both geographically and conceptually - from real or potential markets. I am trying to bridge the gap for the ladies at heartfelt by teaching them about design and business. The only way to make it sustainable is to educate them about job creation and help them develop new skills. Our heartfelt philosophy is to always make each product out of love, fill it with hope and believe that someone will find it and send that love back to us".
