AT THE SOUTH AFRICAN HANDMADE COLLECTION 2009 BY WINNING BRONZE AWARD.
We all felt so proud to be exhibiting as part of the South African Handmade Collection at Decorex in Johannesburg in August. Not only did we meet incredibly talented and special people, but we walked away with the Bronze Award for Best Individual Stand... which to be honest, has left us all a little gob smacked! We were up against so much competition and so many beautiful products and stands. We would like to thank TEP (Tourism Enterprise Partnership) who funded us for part of our stand, and the DTI who made it all possible.
A new initiative by the Department of Trade & Industry, the South African Handmade Collection represents the highest quality, design led, and well manufactured, environmentally friendly, South African craft products, conforming to fair trade practices.
This on-going initiative is firmly established as the country's definitive craft trade expo. The creations in the 2009 Collection was a particularly colourful blend of tradition and trends, a midway meeting between the rich South African cultural heritage and aspects of the future; a successful partnership between creativity and business know-how. Aimed at local and international buyers, this collection - representing all provinces in South Africa - was a showcase of the highest quality, eco-caring products designed and made with the utmost care and dedication.
To have won the Bronze Award at this prestigious event has meant so much to all of us here at Heartfelt. We can't wait to start working on new designs and to collaborate with some of the talented creatives we met across the country. Exhibiting under the North West Province was also really special as we got to meet so many wonderful people from our Province. At Heartfelt we really feel that it's important to work together and to share ideas. After all two heads are always better than one... look around. Be inspired. There is so much possibility in our beautiful country and so many beautiful people to make dreams come true.
